E&BC Classic Worlds Tournament 7/20/2024

On July 20th, 2024, the E&BC Classic Worlds Bowling Tournament was conducted at Bowlero Union Hills in Phoenix. The scoring pace on the Sardonyx oil pattern was much higher than anticipated at 41 feet and medium volume. We had 24 bowlers who stepped up today. We would like to congratulate Tommy Hofmann who was today's victor, capturing his first E&BC Tournaments Title. His impressive score of 1281 qualified him in the 4th spot, while Jeff Young bowled extremely well with an impressive 1307 for his 5 games to be the number 1 qualifier. Our 2nd place qualifier was Christopher Gray who also was very impressive bowling 1286 over his 5 games. Rounding out the other top 6 bowlers in the qualifying squad were: 3rd Alex Benton 1283 pins, Austin Penne and Andrew Taylor tying with 1273 pins. The match play showcased these 6 very good bowlers in head-to-head match play with the winners of each game receiving an additional 30 bonus pins. It was a slight back and forth between the top 3 bowlers seeing Tommy Hofmann taking the victory, Jeff Young still impressed but managed a 2nd place finish and Andrew Taylor moving up the ladder taking 3rd. 4th place went to Alex Benton, Christopher Gray 5th, and Austin Penne 6th. There were quite a number of spectators at today's finals, which show that the tournament event itself is gaining traction with others and served to be a value to the finalists. Bowlero Union Hills provided a great venue for this thrilling tournament. We witnessed more and more fans and observers at today's event than has been in the past. And, I am sure they enjoyed the thrill of competition. We welcomed a few new bowlers to the E&BC Classic Worlds tournaments: Carlos Jimenez, who missed the cut by 3 pins, Brian Jackson, Michael Lemos, and Duncan Kesler.
