On August 17th, 2024, the E&BC Classic Worlds Bowling Tournament was held at Bowlero Union Hills in Phoenix. The scoring pace on the Jacinth oil pattern was medium average at 43 feet and medium volume. We had 26 bowlers who stepped up today. We would like to congratulate Lordan Ferguson on capturing his first E&BC title. He bowled impressively with a score of 1266 qualifying him in the 1st spot. To round out our top 6 bowlers, the 2nd seed was Tony Schroeder 1195, 3rd seed Thomas Hofmann 1193, 4th seed Melloni Zimmer 1180, 5th seed Charles Halse 1177, and 6th seed Sandi Hacker 1154. The finals showcased these 6 very good bowlers in head-to-head match play with the winners of each game receiving an additional 30 bonus pins. There was a lot of back and forth between the 2nd seed and 6th seed bowlers seeing Lordan Ferguson barely holding on to the victory, Charles Halse climbed from 5th to 2nd winning two of his matches, Thomas Hofmann maintained the 3rd seed climbing from 6th after the first two match play games by winning his third match play game with a commanding 266 scratch score. Sandi jumped from 6th to 2nd, only to drop to 4th after barely losing her 3rd game match against Lordan. Melloni Zimmer impressed today with her bowling as she finished overall in 5th, but barely losing her matches in the second and third games, otherwise she could have taken the title. Tony Schroeder finished in the 6th spot today having lost all three of his matches by only a small margin. There were quite a number of spectators at today's finals, which show that the tournament event itself is gaining viewers and served to be a value to the finalists. Bowlero Union Hills provided a great venue for this thrilling tournament. We witnessed more and more fans and observers at today's event than has been in the past. And, I am sure they enjoyed the thrill of competition. We welcomed a few new bowlers to the E&BC Classic Worlds tournaments: Tony Schroeder, Charles Halse, James Brebeck, Rob Fehr, and Derek Hughes.
