E&BC Classic Worlds Tournament 4/19/2025

This past Saturday April 19th we saw 22 bowlers for this event. The bowlers bowled on the E&BC Tournaments Sardonyx oil pattern. This pattern in the past has been a higher scoring pattern, which saw the bowlers needing to bowl about 20 pins above their average in order to qualify. After the squad was completed we took the top 8 bowlers for an initial 2-game match play, then having the bowlers move on the semi-finals in a one-game match play, and finishing with the top 2 bowlers vying for to the title. The match play was based on the seeding pitting the number one seed against the 8th seed, the 2nd seed against the 7th seed, and so on. Our number one seed was Ron Schloss with 1048 with handicap, 2nd seed George Lima 1031, 3rd seed George Pinegar 998, 4th seed Christopher Gray 969, 5th seed and 6th seed were tied, but the 5th seed went to Chris Naude who had the higher scratch game between the two, the 6th seed Tony Schroeder 962, 7th seed Dave Nelson 959, and 8th seed Shannon Hall. Match play was a bit up and down, but the four semi-finalists ended up being Ron Schloss, Christopher Gray, George Pinegar, and Dave Nelson. The semifinal matche winners were Ron Schloss over Christopher Gray 229 to 212, and George Pinegar over Dave Nelson 258 to 247. The final match pitted Ron Schloss versus George Pinegar with Ron Schloss taking the title (his 2nd title) beating George 248 to 230. The five bowlers who received payut were Ron Schloss, George Pinegar, Dave Nelson, Christopher Gray, and Shannon Hall, in that order. The condition of the pinsetters was very good today, where we only had to take care of a few dead woods. So, we would like to thank the crew at Bowlero Union Hills who work as hard as they do to make sure these events run without a hitch. We would also like to thank you to all who came out in support of this event. To be eligible to bowl the year-end event you will need to bowl at least 2 events prior.
